NCI 402 Work Based Learning - Alfred Hitchcock Research

After looking at some of Alfred Hitchcock’s existing posters for films , it is clear there is a distinctive style within the layout and feel of each poster . The posters usually include manipulated photography with hand rendered slab typography using abstract shapes and experimental layout. The posters are relevant to the time period of 1940’s - 1950’s .

The illustrative style is detailed and although the posters look dated now , they were clearly as
influential as the films. I like the over dramatic imagery and by looking at these posters it will help me gain a better idea of the layout/style and color palettes for my own design for ‘Strangers On A Train’ .
